The 2nd girl, Serah Luka, who was rescued by the Nigeria Military
yesterday, is not one of the 218 students of the Government Girls
College Chibok who were abducted by Boko Haram members on April 14th
2014, the Associated Press reports. Army spokesman Col. Sani Kukasheka
Usman in a statement he released yesterday announcing her rescue, said
Sarah is number 157 on the list of 218 missing Chibok school girls
However, this seem not to be correct as a Chibok community leader Pogu
Bitrus told The Associated Press that Number 157 on their list had a
different name.
According to
the report, the list has two other young women sharing the surname given
by the military and the rescued girl may have been visiting older
sisters at the school the night of the kidnapping.

"Stop using my name to extort people" - EFCC boss, Magu warns
Read the press statement below...
“I have not mandated anybody to collect money on my behalf from any person or organisation. It is not in my character to do so otherwise I will not be in this office. I am contented with what I am paid at the end of the month”, Magu said.
He called on members of the public, especially relatives and friends of persons under investigation by the Commission to quickly report any person who approaches them with a proposal to collect bribe on his behalf for the release of their loved ones, to the Commission.
“Anyone caught trying to tarnish my hard earned reputation and integrity must be prepared to face the music. I have accounts in three banks and, on no account should anybody make lodgement into any of my accounts without my knowledge”, the EFCC boss warned.
In recent weeks, there has been an upsurge in the activities of scammers who parade themselves as having links with leadership of the Commission and the capability to release suspects. Some of the scam calls sent to members of the public across the country, conveyed the Commission’s purported readiness to “play ball, release suspects as long as reasonable settlement is arranged”.
Mr. Magu has promised that the Commission will discharge its duties, “guided solely by the fear of Almighty God, the overriding interest of our fatherland, Nigeria and the rule of law and not any pecuniary motive”. The public are advised to report calls from suspected scammers and forward the callers’ numbers to the EFCC via the following: info@efccnigeria.org, theeagle@efccnigeria.org.
The Commission could also be reached on the following hotlines: 09-9044571, 09-9044572, 09-9044573.

Some unsuspecting members of the public have fallen victim of this scam and made huge payments to this syndicate. The Commission warns the public to be wary of the activities of these fraudulent individuals who have no relationship whatsoever with Mr. Magu and the EFCC.

First class student barred from graduation because he refused to shave his beard (Photo)
The valedictorian at a Louisiana high school was not allowed to participate because he took a stand over his goatee.
Andrew Jones, the head of his class at Amite High School, was not allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony because he refused to shave his beard.
Jones came out tops in his class and was meat to deliver the valedictory speech, but the school said that what’s on his chin violated the policy against facial hair, according to WWLTV.
The 4.0 student had worn his beard for four years, but he and 13 others were told that they had to shave after arriving at their graduation ceremony Wednesday night.
They were told if they didn't go in the bathroom to shave, they couldn't participate with the class. Jones was the only one who refused, because he said that rule was never enforced before.
Jones refused because the rule had never been enforced before, and his cap and gown were taken away.He stands by his decision, though realizes that he will never get to have another high school graduation.
The superintendent said that the principal at Amite High was unavailable to answer as to why the student was allowed to have a beard throughout the school year, but not on graduation

Eventually they took my gown"They told me they had to take my gown from me."It don't make sense, every day of school I went with it, even more, I did shave," said Jones, "I had like sides and everything, but I shaved that for graduation."
"What was the real issue that he couldn't walk with his class?" asked Sabrina Davis, Jones' aunt. "He was top of his class, you know, that moment was the most important moment of his life."Tangipahoa Schools Superintendent Mark Kolwe, who said that Jones had been warned about the policy multiple time, told WVUE said that he personally made an appeal to get the student to shed his scruff to no avail.
